FAQ's
How many sessions will I need? This is a really common question, and there's no one-size-fits-all answer, because all bodies are different and respond to treatments differently. Generally speaking, the recommended number of sessions is 8-10, based on what we have observed as an average across our clients over the years.
Is there any downtime? No, there is no downtime for our body sculpting treatments. The area may be slightly red afterwards due to the warmth of the Radio Frequency skin tightening and massage techniques stimulating blood flow to the area, but this is usually gone within a couple of hours. ​
​What areas can be treated? Body Sculpting treatments can target stubborn fat in areas like stomach (hourglass) thighs, glutes, inner thigh and upper arms. Fat Cavitation is generally not considered safe for facial areas, so we are unable to target under the chin, however this is where our MesoJect treatment can assist with targeted delivery of lipolytic solutions deep into the dermis to help minimise fat deposits without the need for invasive cosmetic treatments.
Will I lose weight? Body Sculpting is considered a 'contouring' treatment, so it is not designed to be used as an alternative for traditional weight loss methods. While we have had many clients lose weight as a result of targeting stubborn fat deposits, this is in conjunction with exercise and healthy lifestyle alterations. Our partnership with Burnside Cosmetic is a great option for clients looking for medical weight-loss solutions alongside our body sculpting treatments, and your Elara specialist can provide a referral for you.
How long do results last? Fat cavitation permanently destroys fat cells, so yes, results are permanent for clients that maintain regular exercise and healthy living habits. Intrinsic and Extrinsic factors like hormonal changes, stress, lifestyle and other factors will impact how your body creates, stores and distributes fat, so results are never guaranteed and will likely change over time.
Can I combine treatments? Absolutely! We have created combined options of sculpting with our MesoJect mesotherapy for enhanced results for cellulite reduction and fat loss, and you can also combine with treatments like our Body Concept Bandage Wrap, Salt Scrub and Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage Massage.
What does Brazilian lymphatic drainage do? Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage massage stimulates your lymphatic system to flush toxins (metabolic waste) from the body, reducing puffiness and swelling. It improves skin texture, smooths and contours reducing fluid retention. Our clients love it, saying they feel lighter and more energised after treatments.
​​How often should I have this done? Brazilian Lymphatic Massage can be done anytime you have excess fluid build up. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly - whenever you need it done, we are here to help you look and feel your best.
Is it painful? Brazilian Lymphatic Massage is not a relaxation massage, it includes the use of wooden tools and firm pressure. It's not painful, but it's also not a heavenly massage that allows you to drift away on a cloud and detach from reality for a while.
Can I book without a consultation? Yes, absolutely! However, if you have any specific medical conditions or concerns we recommend contacting us first so we can ensure the treatment is right for you.
What are the contraindications? Body Sculpting treatments are not suitable for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone who has had surgery within 6 weeks or less and anyone with metal implants, including a pacemaker, within close range of the treatment area.
Is there aftercare? Yes, after your body sculpting treatment you need to maintain your water intake and low-intensity exercise over the next 72 hours to ensure that your body can effectively eliminate the fat that has been released during the treatment.
